As our pets age, we recommend yearly wellness exams, which includes blood work, urinalysis and x-rays. All of these can be performed in the hospital.
We do offer and recommend microchipping for your pet. It could save your pet's life!
We perform all basic surgeries such as spays and neuters, mass removals, laceration treatments, and many more.
We do puppy and kitten shots and also provide 3 year vaccines on adult pets.
Our therapy laser can be beneficial to pets with arthritis, wounds, sprains/strains, post-surgical healing, and a multitude of other problems.
We have indoor kennels, as well as indoor/outdoor runs and a yard where they can run and play.
We do baths, brush outs, and
sanitary grooms. Baths include nail
trim, anal gland expression, and ear cleaning.
We do dental cleaning and tooth
extractions. We will recommend products to help keep your pet's teeth clean.
We have one veterinarian and a technician on duty 5 days a week who are able to handle most emergencies. Emergencies can be things such as accidental poisoning, car accidents, or chocolate ingestion. In some life-threatening emergencies, you may be referred to the Animal Emergency and Referral Center (601-939-8999) or to Urgivet (601-790-1918) to ensure as many people as possible are working to save your pet's life.
We provide a wide variety of dietary foods, treats, shampoos, and more available for purchase from our lobby as a convenience to you and your pet.
We have been in business for over 15 years. Owner Dr. Dana Ford bought Canton Road Veterinary Hospital in 2005 and has been running it as a family-oriented practice ever since. Dr. Melissa Cefalu has worked here for 13 years and has recently bought into the practice.
Dr. Ford graduated from Mississippi State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 1998. Prior to buying Canton Road Vet, she did relief work and emergency medicine for seven years. She is married and lives in Flora, Mississippi with her son and pets.
